Gerakina Canyon is very close to Athens and is suitable for anyone who wants to experience canyoning,
it is dry for almost all months of the year with 16 descents that allow the visitor to live a beautiful experience.
It is a relatively broad canyon with a view of the Gulf of Corinth, it does have some narrow
spots and its descents are not too large nor too small.
The Activity (Gerakina Canyon) begins with the meeting of the group at the entrance of the canyon
where the equipment is given to the participants, the equipment is then checked and the training is carried out.
Then we start a short 15′ hike to the entrance to the canyon.
Gerakina Canyon starts with a beautiful 5m descent and then there are continuous
descents (17 ) with rappels and almost no walking.
Ιt has no jumps and slides The canyon takes about 5 hours to complete.
After the activity, the visitor can visit Lake Vouliagmeni as well as Heraion .
Heraion is located on the peninsula of Perachora, to the north of the Gulf of Corinth, at the western end of the Geraneia mountain range
Lake Vouliagmeni is a lagoon located 16 kilometers northwest of Loutraki, very close to the
area of ​​the archaeological site of Heraion and the settlement of Perachora. It has a maximum
length of 2 km and a maximum width of about 1 km. Its depth does not exceed 40 meters.
