Spring Krias Parnitha

In Parnitha, one of its most famous and visited places is the spring of Kyra or Kryas, also called by some the spring of Phylis. In fact it is a source in the central Parnitha which has a long and very rich folklore history. At the spring there is also a small theater built with the ruins of the ancient temple of Panos.

The folklore of the area tells of a story of a girl who starts every night from the Sanatorium of Parnitha, reaches the source to quench her thirst and after not finding her mother, returns back again. The myth says that on winter afternoons, when the sun goes down, the hiker should not be near the springs because he will meet the little girl in white and his mother and he might get scared.
