Brief Description
Spend a wonderful day hiking in the impressive Parnassos, in the unique beauty of the Tithorea Canyon and ending the journey at two fantastic waterfalls, one of which falls from a height of 80 meters and the second one comes out of a hole on the rock – a unique geological phenomenon in Greece.

More Information

Parnassus is not only Liakoura, Gerontovrachos, and the Cellars. Not just Arahova. Parnassos is the mountain of Apollo, it is the Delphi, Kirykeio Andro, Lykoria, Lilaia, Daylis.

It is the National Park, the intense picture of ravines and canyons, caves, sinks and springs. It is the E4 international path and the ancient route.

Tithorea is built on the edge of an impressive canyon on the northeastern slopes of Mount Parnassos at an altitude of 440 meters, at the site of ancient Tithorea.

Above the village dominates the “Aesthetic Forest”, with the thousands of firs, oak trees, cedar, coumaries and other native trees and shrubs.

A canyon that starts from scenic Tithorea, on the northern foothills of Parnassos and moves like a serpent up to the high peaks of the mountain.
The smaller opening of the canyon is 62 meters and is distinguished by the large and historical caves and the vertical rocks in various shapes. During the journey, one finds a traditional abandoned watermill, as well as the “Cave of Odysseus Androutsos” or the “Black Hole” as he called it, which was the base of the chieftain during the Revolution. Above the village dominates the “Aesthetic Forest of Tithorea”, consisting of fir, oak, cedar, coumaries and other trees and shrubs. The route through the canyon is easy enough, although it is full of uphill, downhill and steep slopes.
The vegetation consists mainly of evergreen broadleaves, various types of oak trees, and sporadic firs of Kefalonia that are slightly thicker, creating large fir forests.
In the canyon, golden eagles, short –toed eagles, hawks, robins and other common birds fly.
The canyon is a unique experience for the tourists, as it combines the impressive mountaineering route, which includes the crossing of the valley of Velitsa, with the climb to the highest peak of Parnassos, Liakoura, at an altitude of 2,456 m.
We will go on a wonderful journey full of impressive landscapes. The view is unique, creating to the tourists an indescribable feeling.
We will follow the unique beauty of the path that leads to Dipotama, where two canyons join together, and when we reach the end of the journey we will witness the wonder of one magnificent 80m waterfall and one hole into the rock, unique in Greece, from which flows plenty of water, everything under Kalogeros of 2327m.

During our return we will dine at a traditional tavern in the area.
